2016 Retrospective

In the rush (and joy) of these weeks of Christmas and New Years, it’s easy to start wishing for the year to be over already so it can take away with it all the bad things that happened in 2016. A lot of the time we end up forgetting to stop and think back on all the good things that the last twelve months brought us, so in today’s video I wanted to share an exercise that helps you face the holidays with a grateful heart.

I know that 2016 wasn’t a great year for a lot of people, and if I think back on the feelings I experienced, I remember some really bad ones. For example, I have never been more stressed out in my life – not even when I was struggling to finish uni – than on the second trimester of this year. When we focus on feelings, for some reason we can recall the worst ones more easily. However, after I stopped to do the exercise on this video, I ended up realising that 2016 was in fact one of my best years yet.

Watch it and try to do the exercise yourself. (As usual, English captions are available by clicking the CC at the bottom of the video screen.) I’d love to read in the comments what was your biggest win this year.

Dotti dress | Tiffany & Co. necklace | Tilkah earrings | Jolie & Deen rings
Tarte Cosmetics Swamp Queen palette | Lime Crime Saddle Velvetine
